Use case
Weekly rankings and competitor review
Run a weekly Shopify SEO review: keyword position deltas, competitor overlap, and top pages from SEO Performance Monitor Overview—built for 25–100 tracked keywords.
Highlights
What you get out of this flow
Outcomes you can expect when you run this playbook inside EShopSet on Shopify.
- Compress a week of daily syncs into a 20–30 minute decision meeting
- Spot ±3 position swings before they become traffic cliffs
- Tie top-page lists to merchandising and content owners
Why weekly, not only daily
Daily Overview is for anomalies (sync errors, sudden competitor spikes). Weekly review is for prioritization. Ranking noise on any single day can be 1–2 positions; a sustained −4 to −8 move across a cluster usually means a SERP feature change, a competitor content push, or an on-site regression after a theme/app deploy.
How it works in EShopSet
Open SEO Performance Monitor → Overview after the Monday (or your team’s) sync. Scan keyword position changes, open the competitors table for overlap, and review top organic pages. Cross-check Logs if any sync was partial. Keep the meeting artifact light: 3 wins, 3 risks, 1 experiment for the week.
Example: beauty brand ranking board
A beauty Shopify store on Pro tracks 86 keywords. In one weekly review they found:
- 9 keywords dropped 4+ positions (mostly “best … for sensitive skin” comparisons)
- 2 competitors newly ranking on 14 overlapping terms
- Top 20 pages still drove ~78% of organic clicks—so effort stayed on those URLs, not the long tail
They shipped 3 comparison modules and 12 internal links; two weeks later 6 of the 9 recovered into the top 10.
Playbook
- Filter keywords with ≥3 position change week-over-week.
- Group by collection/theme (don’t treat 40 URLs as 40 tickets).
- Check competitor table for domains gaining on those themes.
- Open top pages: which URLs own the recovering/losing clusters?
- Assign ≤3 content or merchandising tasks with owners and due dates.
- Note the baseline date so next week’s review has a clean delta.
What to measure
- % of tracked keywords improved / declined / flat
- Competitor count sharing ≥10 of your keywords
- Organic clicks concentrated in top 10 / 20 / 50 pages
