Use case
Close AI mention gaps
When competitors appear in AI answers and you do not, use AI Presence Overview trends and per-keyword tables to prioritize Shopify content fixes.
Highlights
What you get out of this flow
Outcomes you can expect when you run this playbook inside EShopSet on Shopify.
- Gap list from per-keyword competitor visibility
- Trend lines show whether gaps are widening
- Feed SEO + content teams the same ranked backlog
Why closing gaps beats spraying content
Publishing 20 new posts won’t help if AI answers already prefer three authoritative URLs. Closing gaps means matching the evidence those answers cite—unique data, clearer specs, fresher guides—on the exact prompts where rivals appear and you don’t.
How it works in EShopSet
Use Overview trends plus per-keyword tables in AI Presence to list queries where competing domains appear without your brand. Sort by commercial intent, then assign owners. Pair with SEO Performance Monitor when the same themes underperform in classic search.
Example: pet food brand
On 12 comparison keywords, Competitor A appeared in 4/4 models; the brand appeared in 0–1. They shipped one head-to-head guide with feeding tables and third-party test notes. After ~18 days, they appeared in 2/4 models on 7 of those 12 queries—enough to justify a second round of SKU-level FAQs.
Playbook
- Filter keywords: competitor mentioned, brand not.
- Score by revenue potential (collection/SKU mapping).
- For each top gap, open 1–2 AI answers manually and note cited sources.
- Brief content that can earn a citation (not a thin rewrite).
- Re-check the gap list after 10–15 syncs.
What to measure
- Count of gap keywords week over week
- % of gap keywords closed (brand now mentioned)
- Models where gaps persist longest
