Link Pilot|scan|suggestions
Scan the store and generate suggestions
After install, Link Pilot indexes your catalog and content, audits existing body links, then generates suggestions. Generation runs rules (orphans, broken, underlinked, commercial gaps) in parallel with AI embeddings (same-locale cosine neighbors). Without a completed scan, Overview and Suggestions stay empty.
Prerequisites
- Link Pilot installed on the Shopify store
- Products, collections, pages, or blog posts with body/description HTML
Steps
- Open Link Pilot in Shopify Admin. On first run, complete onboarding and choose Start store scan.
- Wait for the index job to finish (products, collections, articles, pages). Changed HTML is embedded for AI matching.
- From Overview, run Audit if it did not start automatically—this builds the content graph, health lists, and Overview Score.
- Run Generate suggestions. Watch progress until the job completes.
- Open Suggestions to review the open queue—filter by confidence and type.
Tips
- Without Link Automation, you can re-index at most 2 full scans per UTC day.
- Draft or out-of-stock destinations stay eligible unless you turn on Settings filters.
- Semantic suggestions need AI embeddings; rule-based audits still work if AI is unavailable.
Troubleshooting
- Scan stuck: refresh Overview and check job status; retry after a few minutes.
- Empty suggestions: confirm content has enough body text and that ignore-handle filters are not excluding everything.
- Re-index blocked: you hit the free daily cap—wait for the next UTC day or activate Link Automation.
